PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Rob Pratte hosted Black and Gold Sunday from Kuhn’s Market with Bob Dvorchak, Jeff Cohen and Frank Augustine.

Krista Voda, Jim Colony, John Perrotto and Andy Toole were guests on the edition.

Pratte talked about NASCAR, giving a recap of the Daytona 500.  Jimmie Johnson took home the title and Danica Patrick made headlines with her eighth-place finish, the highest ever by a woman in a NASCAR event.

Pirates baseball and spring training took center stage as the discussion turned to young talent.  The panel discussed the Pirates’ need to take advantage of spring training to test out their young pitchers, saying this is the time of year where young talent gets much needed experience.

Pratte also talked about how he is impressed by the advances made in women’s college basketball, explaining how girls are now starting at a younger age than they used to and it has resulted in better play.  He said he thinks college fans have taken notice and attendance at games has grown.

Listen to Black and Gold Sunday every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.
